Useful means usable.
What we're working toward
We want couples and vendors to be able to use Queerly Beloved across different devices, input methods and access needs. Our current design work includes semantic page structure, keyboard-accessible controls, visible focus states, responsive layouts, text alternatives for meaningful images, reduced-motion support, readable text sizing and avoiding information that depends on colour alone.
Accessibility information in the directory
Vendor accessibility details are practical information, not a score or a measure of queer inclusion. Where relevant, profiles may describe things such as step-free access, accessible washrooms, sensory considerations, communication accommodations or other services a vendor has told us it can provide. Couples should confirm specific access requirements directly with a vendor before booking.
Known limitations
The directory is actively being built, and some pages or third-party destinations may not yet work equally well for everyone. Third-party vendor websites are outside our control. We will keep reviewing the Queerly Beloved site as features are added.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on Queerly Beloved is difficult to use, tell us what page you were on, what you were trying to do and, if you're comfortable sharing it, the browser/device or assistive technology involved. You do not need to disclose a disability.
Email queerlybelovedbc@gmail.com with the subject “Accessibility feedback.” We will make a reasonable effort to respond and find another way to provide the information or service where possible.
Continuous improvement
Accessibility is part of the product, not a one-time checkbox. As the directory grows, we will use feedback and testing to identify and remove barriers.
